IBM Multivendor – Available  on non IBM Hardware (HP, Dell, Cisco and more)

IBM offer a wide range of different maintenance services, from IBM ServicePac, an off-the-shelf option for your x-Series and Storage, to ServiceSuite, the tailor-made contract covering all your IBM hardware flexibly. But did you know that IBM also provide maintenance services for non-IBM hardware?

So what are the benefits for you?

Quite simply, IBM Multivendor (MV) is available in some instance up to 30% cheaper than direct with the original manufacturer. IBM MV gives you the possibility to have a single point of contact to deal with in regards to all your hardware, whether it is made by IBM or not. You won’t need to speak to your Dell-partner about your Dell server and to your IBM contact about your IBM software cover. You can have a single contract covering your entire IT environment.

Depending on which country your hardware is in, IBM Multivendor Services cover hardware from Cisco, Dell and HP.

What do you get for your money?

You get to enjoy all the benefits of the IBM Services that you are familiar with, except now your other hardware can be covered as well. The quick IBM response times of 4hours (or SBD/NBD* depending on the type of hardware) will stay exactly the same as you know them from your IBM maintenance services. Of course your multivendor hardware will be repaired according to its manufacturer’s specifications. And the one off payment that gives you support for 1 or even 2 years will continue to cover any call out charges, additional parts and labour.

On top of that, you get the usual EPD services, which include the free registration of all your ServicePac as well as a reminder 30 days before their expiry.

In which countries are IBM Multivendor Services available?

Including recent additions, the list of countries for which we can offer Multivendor Services now consists of France, the Benelux and Nordic countries (except for Norway), Spain/SPGI, Italy, Austria and Switzerland.

We are very proud to have been named as one of only 10 Yorkshire companies to win this year’s Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the category “International Trade”.

The Queen’s Award is awarded only to the most outstanding companies or individuals in their respective specialised field and is divided into “International Trade”, “Innovation” and “Sustainable development”. In order to win the “International Trade” award, businesses must show a substantial increase in overseas growth and commercial success. With offices in the UK, Australia, Mauritius, throughout the African continent and now in the USA, Europlus Direct are globally present to supply 120 countries with IBM services.

Having won the Queen’s Award previously in 2008, we are very pleased our continued effort to approach new markets and expand internationally has been recognised and rewarded with one of the UK’s most distinguished business awards.

Saltaire-headquartered Europlus Direct is targeting a multimillion-pound rise in turnover over the next two years after expanding into the US.

The company, which specialises in worldwide sales and marketing services on behalf of technology giant IBM, has opened an office in Tampa, Florida and is eyeing a move into the Indian market.

Europlus Direct started out in 2004 reselling IBM support services to French customers and now employs 40 members of staff.

It already has a strong presence in parts of Africa, but has been looking to gain a foothold in the US for a number of years.

Chief executive Jim Hart told Insider: “We estimate the US market will be a similar size to our work in Europe so it should be worth in the region of £4m a year. It will obviously take time to build, but we expect it to increase revenues this year.”

Europlus Direct said sales grew from £5.4m in 2011 to £7.2m in 2012. It has forecast revenues will be between £8m and £9m this year.

Hart said the business has offices in Mozambique, Namibia, Senegal and the Democratic Republic of Congo, with its operations in sub-Saharan African countries growing 50 per cent over the past year. It also has offices in Sydney, Australia, and South Africa.

He added: “We’re looking at India now. We sell across the world, including to India, but we don’t have a physical presence there at the moment.

“We’ve done quite a bit of research over the past two or three years and there is potential to expand there in 2013.”

Europlus Direct are very pleased to announce that our online store is now open for business!

If your IBM hardware is located in the United Kingdom, you can now easily choose the machine you would like a ServicePac for and purchase it there and then. Just choose which machine you are looking for, enter its type and model and you will be shown a list of available ServicePac. Quick and simple, straightforward service.

We are also planning on expanding our online shop to be able to cover all of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. So stay tuned for more great news!

Europlus Direct and Europlus Direct International were featured in the Yorkshire Post today. The article, mainly about CEO Jim Hart, described our current and future business model in Africa and throughout the world.

Having started out in 2004 reselling IBM support services to French customers, Europlus Direct has developed and expanded constantly. We added the UK to the countries we offer services to, following this with most of Western Europe, including Germany, Spain, and Italy, and Australia.

In 2010 Europlus direct was presented with the opportunity to extend its business to the African market, as a rapidly expanding market this offered a great business opportunity.

EPD and EPDI in Yorkshire Post

We now trade in Africa with a slightly different business model than in Europe. EPD International, based in Mauritius, now not only offers IBM maintenance contracts but specialises in the distribution of spare parts in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Africa is almost completely untouched territory when it comes to IT infrastructure. Setting up a distribution network such as that run by EPD International therefore presents a great new service for the African market. For this purpose EPD International has set up three new offices in Mozambique, Namibia and Senegal to further expand our reach and presence in Africa.

In the future we are hoping to become IBM distributors in the US and Latin America. We also have plans to open more branches in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Bosnia Herzegovina as well as setting up spare parts distribution centres in the Carribean and islands around Australia.

Europlus Direct’s sister company One Global has played a big part in our internationalisation, thanks to their language services we have been able to grow and expand easily throughout the world, taking down the final barrier to international trade – language.

Europlus Direct and EPD International will continue to tap new markets and deliver the same great service as we have over the last 8 years.
