Europlus Direct Website "Best Multilingual Website 2007"!

Europlus Direct Website has been awarded by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and Yorkshire Forward for “Best Multilingual Website 2007” at a recent Awards show in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

Europlus Direct is a specialist provider of international IT services.  Its first contract was with IBM France in 2004, since then it has expanded to provide services across Europe. Being European wide, communication in client’s native language is essential and therefore Europlus Direct uses a multilingual website which can be automatically tailored to the appropriate domestic market at the click of a mouse.

From UKTI Press Release, “Saltaire Company Wins Award for Export Success“
released 14th March 2007

The awards were hosted by UKTI and Yorkshire Forward to celebrate the export success of companies involved with the Passport to Export and Targeted Export Support Schemes, which aim to help companies either start to export or grow their existing export sales or markets.

Speaking at the event in Leeds last night, where they (Europlus Direct) received their award from Michelle Mone, serial entrepreneur and developer of the Ultimo bra range, Jim Hart of Europlus Direct, who founded the company with two colleagues three years ago said:

“We are absolutely delighted to have won this award which means a great deal to the company, particularly as this is our second year of entry.  Our success now will be a real boost to our small team because it really puts on record their efforts and achievements.

“The Passport to Export Awards are well geared to our businesses which very much focused on overseas trade. We’re passionate about selling internationally.  Our services aren’t restricted by national or language barriers and 80% of our turnover is generated by exports.  Our advisers at UKTI held our hand as we took the first steps and we’ve put two staff through the Passport to Export programme, which was extremely useful.  They have also supported us with market research and helped us to identify new export opportunities.

Europlus Direct has expanded from three staff in October 2004 to 22 staff today.

UK Trade & Investment’s Regional International Trade Director  Mark Robson said:

“This years winners  show the impressive range of companies  working in the Yorkshire & Humber region, and the diversity of entrepreneurial spirit which drives their founders.  Tonight we have rewarded an established, major employer; a translation company founded only three years ago and a technology company which is harnessing the research talent of one of our leading universities.   They demonstrate that with  UKTI’s expert advice and its global support network  behind them, companies can expand their international business faster, further and smarter.”

Passport to Export (P2E) is UKTI’s flagship programme for new and inexperienced exporters. It provides the training, planning and ongoing support businesses need to begin a successful export operation.

The Targeted Export Support Scheme (TESS) is designed to help companies in Yorkshire and Humber access funding to support the development of their export strategy, usually over a 6-12 month period. Companies using the scheme, which is funded by Yorkshire Forward, must work with a UK Trade & Investment International Trade Adviser, who will help them to navigate the many issues  that can arise when exporting.
